Butter Spritz Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  1. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until smooth. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, and beat until combined, beat in the flour and salt. Press the dough with cookie press. Bake at 350 until very lightly browned on the edges, 7 to 9 minutes. No Cookie Press? Use a pastry bag with an open star tip.
